We’ve Secured a New Springboard for Growth
Hello, this is techniflows! Along with the warmth of spring, some truly exciting news has come our way. techniflows has been officially selected as a 16th cohort company for the 2026 Daejeon Youth Startup Academy!
Why is this achievement so important?
The core project we’ll be advancing through this program is CCTVMasker, an on-device AI–based one-stop solution for CCTV video search and de-identification. This solution goes beyond simply developing a new technology—it’s set to become an innovative step toward protecting personal data in our everyday lives in the safest and fastest way possible.
CCTVMasker, Innovation that Protects Our Everyday Lives
The real problems happening in the field right now
As personal information protection laws have been strengthened in recent years, applying de-identification (mosaicing) to hide third parties’ faces or license plates has become mandatory when reviewing CCTV footage. However, this process has mostly relied either on manual work outsourced to external vendors or on expensive external cloud GPU servers.
As a result, people who needed to access footage had to shoulder enormous costs and endure the inconvenience of waiting days just to receive the processed video. On top of that, sending original footage outside the premises for mosaicing always carried the risk of data breaches due to hacking or unauthorized third-party access.
Eliminating customer pain points completely with technology
techniflows’ CCTVMasker fundamentally solves these issues. By adopting an on-device (standalone edge server) architecture that performs all computation within the device itself without requiring the internet or any external network connection, there is absolutely no risk of video being leaked to the outside.
In addition, when a user searches in natural language, such as "man wearing a blue padded jacket," the AI pinpoints just the relevant scenes from massive amounts of footage. It then automatically distinguishes between the target and the background and completes precise masking on its own. Without the need for costly server infrastructure or expensive monthly subscriptions, you can simply plug the device into your existing management system and start using it right away—a cost- and time-saving, user-friendly technology.
Moving Toward a Safer Future
With the funding and support secured through our participation in the Youth Startup Academy, we plan to further refine our natural language–based search engine and integrated masking technology and push forward with full-fledged commercialization.
